Chinese food ....ummmmmm .so today i am going to write about chinese food ...still i am getting water in my mouth. I love chinese food with indian spices.
In a country where someone's traditional way of greeting translates into "you've eaten yet? '(Nor chile ma), rest assured, the food is going to be extraordinary. China boasts the world's most popular culinary heritage. Their cuisine's history dates back around 1000 years with varied cooking types, techniques and ingredients that developed over time.
There would be two aspects to a traditional Chinese meal-a carbohydrate or starch like noodles, rice or buns, and corresponding fries or veggie, fish and meat dishes. They use many fresh vegetables such as mushrooms, water chestnuts, bamboo, and even tofu. Wheat-based accompaniments such as noodles and steamed buns dominate the table in North China, as opposed to South China where rice is a staple.
Each dish focuses on balancing three aspects-appearance, aroma and taste. They pay a lot of attention to the food's visual presentation with vibrant colours. Sauces and seasonings such as fish sauce, five spice powder, oyster sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, root garlic, fresh ginger and others are generously used to provide a complex aroma and flavour play.Chinese dishes are rich in umami, much like Japanese cuisine, which is described as a 'pleasant savory taste.' The taste of umami is typical to many ingredients in their cuisine, such as Chinese cabbage, spinach, celery, green tea or fermented items such as soy sauce and pastes.
The two main philosophies-Confucianism and Taoism-influence the Chinese food and the way it is cooked. One of Confucius' principles was that food must be sliced into small pieces of bite-size before serving. Those who follow Taoism are more focused on food which promotes health and longevity and those with healing powers.
